Tony Merrill - ( Director and Principal Consultant )
A professional of some 20 years standing in procurement and supply chain management in permanent, interim and consultancy roles, with additional experience in commercial sales contracts and facilities management. Since establishing MCC in 2001, consultancy projects have included the development of procurement strategies and plans for such clients as Veritas Software Ltd, the Army Base Repair Organisation (ABRO) and the Home Office's Security Industry Authority (SIA). With the Metropolitan Police, he was involved in improving procurement practices, redevelopment of the procurement function as well as negotiating numerous technology related contracts.
He has been heavily involved in conducting on behalf of the NAO value-for-money (VFM) assessments on the culture, media, sport and further education college sectors and was pivotal in the development of a procurement audit toolkit that will be used by the NAO to assess value for money and procurement across the public sector. In 2005 he was engaged as a Procurement Consultant to the Cabinet Office and was a key member of the team implementing the Government's shared services agenda.
His experience in the banking and financial services sector includes participation in the renegotiation of Barclays Bank's contract for outsourced mortgage operations and for most of 2004 he was engaged in an assignment with FirstCaribbean International Bank Ltd in Barbados establishing a new procurement function spanning 15 countries across the Caribbean.
His most recent assignments was the establishment of new group procurement functions, generating savings and improving processes and procedures for Hanover Housing Association and then The Priory Healthcare Group.

Anthony Merrill - ( Director and Company Secretary )
An Instrument Engineer by profession he is a member of the Institute of Measurement and Control with accompanying higher national certificates and city and guilds qualifications in electrical and instrument engineering. He was involved in setting standards for high voltage measurement and control which led to him lecturing at the Royal Institute on high voltage measurement. He later went on to become a accredited test laboratory assessor of the British Calibration Service (BCS), the precursor to NAMAS.
After working for 35 years in the technology research and development arena at AERE Harwell and the UKAEA as a Senior Instrument Engineer he Joined Merrill Commercial Consultants in 2001 and took on the job of Company Secretary and becoming a Director in 2002.

Allan Robertson - ( Consultant )
A Chartered Engineer by training, Allan has worked in a variety of different fields and has been employed in senior roles in both Central and Local government where he was a Chief Officer.
He has held Director and board level posts at the Midlands Electricity Board and the Post Office. He has also acted as a procurement advisor to the National Westminster Bank Plc on all matters relating to procurement, and was responsible for all procurement policy and management within the Government's Research Councils.
In later life he has been engaged as a senior procurement consultant advising and training within many varied organisations including public companies, housing associations and local government. More recently Allan has been engaged by a major construction group to reduce overheads across the group.
Allan is an author of books on Quality Control and Benchmarking business functions, and regularly contributes articles to a variety of magazines. He is also a past president of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and has spoken at a number of national and international events and remains a member of a CIPS committee.
